Articles

NuntiusScripture explained, one article at a time
Everything published here has one purpose: to explain. The Bible, book by book and word by word; prayer, as the churches have kept it; the church year; the creeds; the people of faith; and the two other faiths of Abraham, Judaism and Islam, described in their own terms. Articles are written by IHS Bethlehem Church, an independent, non-denominational Christian church. They explain the teaching of the historic churches; they do not claim it, and they do not speak for any other church or faith.
Who writes the articles?

IHS Bethlehem Church. They are signed as the church, not as individuals, because the point is the text, not the writer.

Which Bible translation is used?

Modern English, quoted in the sense of the common translations. Where a Hebrew or Greek word matters, it is given and explained.

Do the articles take a denominational side?

No. Where the churches differ, the article says what each holds. Where the Bible is plain, the article says so. Where a question is open, it stays open.

Can I ask for an article on a topic?

Yes. Use the question page. Questions that many readers share become articles.

May I quote or reprint an article?

For personal study, teaching and non-commercial use, yes, with the source named. For anything else, write first.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

— Psalm 119:105
